As promised in our last press release the 2016 Feast of the Blessed Sacrament Entertainment Committee is pleased to announce our Saturday August 6th evening’s entertainment schedule.
Saturday at the Feast is going to be very exciting. We begin with Kids Day from 12 noon -4pm, with the construction of the new Alma do Mar School. The carnival will not be available this year. Plans are well underway for an epic kid’s day. Detailed information on kid’s day will be release in May after we announce our main Thursday night’s headliner. So stay tuned for more info on this year’s Kids Day.
Saturday evening is being themed “Portuguese night”. We begin on stage one at 5:15pm with a performance from New Bedford’s own Rancho Folkloric da Escola Portuguesa. These very talented children will perform until 6pm.
At 6pm the Rancho Folclorico de Cranston will perform traditional music and dance from all areas of Portugal from the main land, to the Azores and Madeira. They will perform until 7pm. Their heart throbbing closing number it is beyond amazing and not to be missed.
Headlining our Portuguese night on Stage One at 10pm will be very talented and beloved Portuguese super star Nelia. The feast is very excited to welcome Nelia back to our stage. She will be rocking the feast until 11:45pm. It’s a performance that can’t be missed.
With all of the wonderful Portuguese themed entertainment running on Stage One we decided to change it up on Stages Two and Three.
On Stage Two from 7pm to 8pm and again from 9pm to 10pm New Bedford’s own cover band Murphy’s Law will perform.
On Stage Three from 7pm to 8pm and again from 9pm to 10pm a very unique hip hop band out of Providence named The Funk Underground will take the stage for the first ever hip hop performance at the Feast. We are very excited to have The Funk Underground at this year’s Feast and it will be a performance no one should miss.
As usual Stage Four under the grape vine is the best getaway from the crowds, with plenty of picnic tables and a great lineup of local artist the Grape Vine area has become a favorite location for many Feast goers.
At 4:30pm on Stage Four local comedian Tegan Flanders will perform a hilarious stand up routine until 5:30pm.
We are pleased to announce that on Stage Four from 6pm-11:45pm local legend Rebecca Corriea will be presenting a showcase of amazing local artists that will be performing continually from 6pm-11:45pm.
