World's Largest Portuguese Feast

Parade

The Feast of the Blessed Sacrament hosted its annual parade on
Sunday, August 7th, 2011 in the City of New Bedford.
 
The parade started at 2:00 p.m.
Over forty different organizations marched the one mile route from Brooklawn Park to the Feast grounds at Madeira Field.
There were brass bands, fife & drum bands,
bagpipers, popular singing groups, pirates, clowns, jugglers, militias, beauty queens,
delightful floats, classic cars and lots of fun and surprises for everyone and rain... :-)
Parade Route:
The parade begins at Brooklawn Park and proceeded
south on Acushnet Avenue to Earle Street.
Then turned east onto Earle Street and continuing to Immaculate Conception Church.
It turned north onto Madeira Avenue and proceeded to Madeira Field
where it entered the Feast grounds and proceeded past the reviewing stand at Stage 1
